The main and lower levels of the library have computers available on a first-come first-served basis. A valid SUNY Ulster username and password is required to sign on. Users may print to the library printer (see below for more details). All of the computers are equipped with Windows 7 and the Microsoft Office suite.
Black and white printing is available from the computers in the library. Review the Printing at the Library page for more detailed instructions for printing.
Students will receive a print quota of $2 per credit at time of registration. This is granted once a semester. If additional printing monies are needed, additional funds can be requested through the Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs (Vanderlyn Hall 250). A SUNY Ulster ID is required to retrieve print jobs.
All loaner laptops will automatically connect to the campus wireless network. Wireless access for personal devices is limited to SUNY Ulster students, faculty and staff. For assistance, visit the Reference Desk or the Student Technology Assistance Desk.
There is one copier located in the library, located to the right of the Circulation desk. Students must swipe their ID card to copy. The cost of copies is deducted from their alotted print balance. The machine will do single or double-sided copies in black and white. It is also possible for students to use the machine to scan to their flash drive.
In addition to the copier/scanner/printer in front of the circulation desk, two scanners attached to student PCs are available. One scanner is located next to the first row of computers in the Reference area and the other is next to the Student Technology Help Desk on the lower level. For assistance, ask a Reference Librarian or Student Tech Help.
Faxing is available through the printer/copier/scanner in front of the Circulation Desk. Swipe your ID card at the machine. Press "Fax" button. Touch "Input Fax No" on screen. Enter Fax number (preceded by 9 for an outside line). Put document in document feeder. Touch "Send" on screen. The cost is as follows:
$1.25 for the 1st page
$1.25 for the 2nd page
$0.50 per page after that.
