National Library of Medicine: Resources for Veterinary Medicine: About NLM

National Library of Medicine (NLM) and Community Colleges

The National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) has established as a goal to outreach to community colleges for all their regional libraries, so that librarians, faculty and students throughout the U.S. become aware of free NLM resources. These NLM resources support health information for healthcare professionals, students, and their patients/clients, as well as consumer health information for everyone—kids to seniors.

The Middle Atlantic Region (NN/LM MAR) is funding an outreach project during 2014/15 to Ulster County Community College and neighboring colleges:  DCC, OCC, RCC, and SCC.  This award will support awareness and training for librarians, faculty and graduating students in health and health-related professions. These NLM resources, both web and mobile versions, can support medical information needs and lifelong learning. The resources are available 24/7, wherever there is access to the Internet.
