Many local historical societies do not have websites, but you can find their names, locations, contact information, and hours listed on sites such as the Ulster County Genealogical Society and others. Also, many local public libraries have excellent local history collections, such as the Stone Ridge library, the Olive Free library and the Elting Memorial library in New Paltz.

- Hudson River Maritime MuseumKingston was the most important port between New York City and Albany in the 19th century. The museum houses exhibits, sponsors lectures and school tours, hosts special events that include historic vessels, and partners with local organizations, such as the Kingston HS crew team.

- Hurley Heritage SocietyMuseum, library, and sponsor of community lectures and events focusing on the history and preservation of the Town of Hurley.

A diverse and in-depth selection of materials gathered from multiple Hudson River Valley historic collections. It also provides links to several key Hudson River Valley organizations.
