OER for Student Success

OER Working Group

"Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others." -Open-NYS

SUNY Ulster is taking part in SUNY's initiative to increase OER use across the state. SUNY is offering baseline funding for OER adoption as well as additional funding for courses where at least 51% of the required course material is OER. As of Fall 2018, there are at least 15 OER courses (32+ sections) at Ulster that are eligible for SUNY funding. The OER Committee was formed to promote OER use and to direct policies related to OER on campus and to determine the best use of SUNY funding.
